Total bliss and a hot day!

We finally have our fountain all set up, and the sound is pure bliss!!!!!!!!!!! We found the pot at the end of the summer last year and decided it was too much work to set it up, just to take it down a few weeks later.
Finch seems to like it too!
I can't believe how many plants I still need to plant! I planted some Bunny Tails, some annuals (left over from the plant sale), finished the pots, and planted a ton of Glad bulbs in the front and side beds. Here is a view of more pots. The planter has Rosemary, Basil, and Dill.

Are these weeds or plants?

The first two are of the same plant (weed?). The second one is in the same bed.

Whew!

I've been working outside all day trying to get my pots all in order. I bought most of the plants for the pots, except a few I winter sowed. I'm done for the day....tomorrow's another day!
This urn was green last year....but a sickly green. I wanted to paint it red, but...omg....the red I picked up was horible! I went to Lowe's and repainted it black. This is one of my Salvia. It's a weed in my yard...reseeding everywhere....but it fits nicely here!
Finished both window boxes. Begonia's in the middle, Asparagus Fern on the left, and Sweet P. Vine to the right. White Impatiens stuck inbetween the plants.
Pots by the garage doors. No need to plant anymore plants in here....the Coleus will get HUGE! I thought this was cute. It must have "jumped" from the bed beside it....sorry...no pun intended....but it IS a Johnny Jump Up!

Let's fly!

I'm not sure how many are in the nest, but they sure make a lot of noise!
Oh, my poor door!

Blue

I don't know why I am drawn to blue flowers. I like them almost as much as I do green blooms. Above is a picture of some of my Blue Flax. I can't say enough about this plant. It's easy to grow, blooms it's first year, and doesn't need to be deadheaded! This picture does not capture the deep blue color of this plant...quite a showy plant! My Lime Sorbet Columbine is blooming. I wish it would turn around so I could take a good picture of the bloom! The blooms are creamy/lime green in color and really pop out in between my Hosta's. This was one of my three new Hosta's I bought last year....isn't it pretty??

Busy, busy, busy!

Instead of planting out some of my winter sowed plants today, I ended up splitting and transplanting a ton of perennials. I don't usually move my plants around, but I want to get rid of a bed in the backyard. It DID have some pretty peach trees on the corners of this bed, but they finally pooped out from DH's neglect (shhhhh...don't tell anyone I told you!). Anywho...I dug up the Sedum. I don't know the name of this Sedum, but it's a pure white color that can be seen from a very far distance! I split each plant (had 3) into 3 and planted some in the front bed (by the wb's) and some by the Weeping Cherry Tree. I also moved some Aster....can't remember it's name either!....but it has a pale bloom color. I moved these to the side bed. I wanted to move some Catmint, but my back was killing me, so that will have to wait for DH.

The Sedum looks horrible, but it's very sturdy and should bounce back soon.

I saw signs of spring while I was in the yard. Here is my first Red Hot Poker bud! A Foxglove bud... ....some of my Glads are already coming up! My Forget Me Nots are still blooming... and the Candytuft's are still putting on a show.... ...and the Dames Rocket are starting to show their colors. Look what I found hidden.....a Hosta that came up AFTER we moved them!

Still more sowing going on

My Marigolds did not germinate, so I sowed some Allysum in their pots. I also sowed more greenbeans....mine bit the dust with our latest frost. They were already in the ground, so I have to start from scratch again.
I planted my herbs in the planter by the back door. I put up a new spring flag I purchased at Tuesday Morning. My Allysum Gold Dust is still blooming.... and my Dames Rocket is getting ready to break out in bloom!

So many to still get in the ground!

I took the pots out of the garage today. I'm glad I did because they were showing signs of sun neglect! It's supposed to get down to 39 degrees tonight, and since they have been in the garage (and not exposed to
the extreme temps) I am going to bring them all in again tonight.
These BB's stayed outside and seem fine.

Mother Nature, you are not being nice!

Despite the freezing temps, the Jacob's Ladder is blooming!
Poor, poor Sedum . This will be their third year.
Astilbe by the Burning Bushes . These were planted last year.
Even our Boxwoods took a beating!
Endless Summer H. planted last spring.
The "best looking" ES, which is by the house. These were all covered, but still took a beating. this was planted one week before the freezing temps.
Not sure if this ES will make it! This was also planted one week before the freezing temps.
I took a stroll around the garden beds this morning to check on the damage. I don't think it's as bad as I thought, but there will be some losses. Above are the damaged plants.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

We are supposed to get into the low 20's or even the TEENS tonight! I don't have enough sheets in the house to cover all our plants. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
I hope my Dames Rocket make it. There are lots of buds ready to pop.

Frozen Clogs

I thought we were clear of any danger of frost....wrong! It got down below 32 degrees last night, and will all this week. I decided to not risk freezing my Zinnia's and Cosmo's, so I dragged all the pots into the garage.
* no, I don't drink while I garden. Hee!
Other signs of Spring are all around, which is amazing since it's so cold outside!
Here are some of the Hosta's we moved
An Endless Summer just planted.
Our Goatsbeard is up!

April Fool's Day!

Baby Hosta I grew from seed
Well, it's been busy, busy, busy in the garden this weekend!
I planted out the rest of my Poppies, and some pink Foxgloves. I planted the Painted Gaillardia in the front bed and moved some Blue Flax from the side bed to the front bed.
DH dug all the Hosta's up for me (the ones by the deck) They get way too much sun there (was able to grow Zinnia's in the bed, which tells ya there is way too much sun!). We split them up and put a group in the back bed by the compost pile, and the cute petite Hosta's in the front of the back bed, along with all the other Hosta's. Oh, he put several in the front bed by the window boxes. It's shady right there, so they should do well.
It's soooo windy out today, but nice and sunny. DH planted some Endless Summer H. where the Hosta's were which I hope will fill the bed more than the Hosta's did. We are going to plant Crape Myrtle where the Hosta's got too much sun.
My Hollyhocks are doing well after being transplanted. Just one plant is a little wilted and the others are standing proud.
